Bioreactors

A bioreactor is a system which has been designed to support a biologically active environment, where biological organisms are grown under controlled conditions.

Apart from our range of fermentation machinery, we offer a range of bioreactors suitable for a variety of biological processes, as follows:

Fibrous Bed Bioreactor:

A fibrous bed bioreactor is used for production of both anchorage-dependent & suspension cultures. The cells are completely protected from the shear of rotating impellers & sparged gas, while products are easily harvested from the cell-free medium. The cells are shielded from turbulence, and can thus grow more profusely, giving much higher yields than in suspension.

Membrane Bioreactor:

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) is the combination of a membrane process like microfiltration or ultrafiltration with a suspended growth activated sludge bioreactor and is widely used for wastewater treatment. These bioreactors can be used to study wastewater treatment from different sources such as pharmaceuticals, tannery, food, chemicals, municipal, etc.

Autoclavable Laboratory Photobioreactor:

We manufacture benchtop autoclavable illuminated photobioreactors with carbon dioxide supplementation, as per our proprietary design. Our machine has a provision of properly designed illumination for improving biomass productivity through better utilization of light, along with ease of exhaust gas monitoring and analysis.

Aerobic Digester:

An aerobic digester is a system used for sewage treatment, designed to reduce the volume of sewage sludge in the presence of oxygen. The micro-organisms in the sludge convert the organic material to carbon dioxide and water, and the ammonia and amino species to nitrate.

Anaerobic Digester:

An anaerobic digester is a system in which micro-organisms break down biodegradable material in the absence of oxygen. The anaerobic microorganisms convert the organic matter into biogas which then can be captured and utilized as a source of energy.

Available in benchtop sizes of 3, 5 and 10 litres for colleges, research organizations, laboratories, etc. Other sizes can be manufactured, as per requirement.
